On March 25, the Packaging Cluster held a new edition of the Packaging Café, a meeting that encourages networking and the exchange of knowledge between entrepreneurs and managers in the industrial sector. On this occasion, the special guest was Pau Relat i Vidal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fira de Barcelona and Chairman of the company MAT Holding.
Pau Relat shared at the Packaging Café the ambitious plans for the remodeling of the Fira de Barcelona exhibition spaces, which include an investment of 300 million euros to modernize the Montjuïc site, coinciding with the centenary of the 1929 International Exhibition. He also highlighted the strategic role of the Mediterranean in international trade and the relevance of Barcelona as a business hub. Relat stressed that the main mission of the Fira de Barcelona is to create an ecosystem for the business economic fabric, with projects such as the expansion of the Gran Via site and the modernization of the Montjuïc area, which act as engines of growth and tourism transformation.
The meeting, moderated by Martina Font, president of the Cluster, highlighted the success of Hispack as a leading trade fair in the packaging sector, an industry in full growth and deeply rooted in the territory, which will celebrate its 20th edition next year. Fira de Barcelona highlighted the sector's commitment and made its infrastructure available to continue promoting its evolution. Relat and Font reflected on the economic future and the innovation challenges for companies in the sector, as well as talent management. In this sense, Relat highlighted the MAT Holding model, highlighting the creation of teams and the level of involvement of people as key differentiating elements.
