By uniting the efforts of 9 clusters around the world, the Global Food Alliance is efficiently addressing tomorrow's challenges through knowledge sharing and collaboration. The goal is clear: with the world's population expected to reach 10 billion soon, we must transform our current food systems and create sustainable ecosystems to provide enough healthy food.
Success depends on establishing collaboration between industry and science, transforming business models and value chains, and developing practical plans to accelerate the transition of the food system.
To ensure that the latest scientific advances and the food industry are aligned and mutually beneficial and that the opportunity to accelerate the scaling of new solutions is not overlooked, 9 clusters from around the world have launched the Global Food Alliance.
The alliance aims to create gateways to each other's food ecosystems, enabling the replication and expansion of regional innovations, supporting the global diffusion of sustainable solutions, and fostering partnerships across ecosystems.
Through the development of close cross-border partnerships, the alliance seeks to share technological solutions that improve new production methods and new food solutions, having a significant impact on feeding the world's growing population in a more sustainable way.
The idea for the alliance arose from the long-standing collaboration between the 9 clusters of the EU's Global Foodture project. Here, the partners successfully established collaboration between European and Asian SMEs and knowledge institutions, leading to innovation and business development for the many companies involved.
The partnership was presented to a wider audience at the Food & Bio Global Summit 2023, organized by Food & Bio Cluster Denmark. At the summit, participants from 25 countries, including representatives from clusters, academia and the food industry, addressed some of the major challenges facing the food industry and emphasized the need for change, sustainability and global collaboration to accelerate and scale new ideas.
Since the conference, the initiative has gained momentum, with the 9 clusters having joined as alliance partners: Enterprise Singapore (SG), Foodvalley (NL), Thailand Management Association, FOOD+i (ES), ITC – Innovation Technology Cluster Murska Sobota (SL), Packaging Cluster (ES), Vitagora (FR), Foodpolis (KR) and Food & Bio Cluster Denmark (DK).

The signing of this memorandum signifies a commitment to collective action and innovation in the food sector. Leveraging the strengths and expertise of its members, the Global Food Alliance aims to drive the transformation of the food industry towards a more sustainable and resilient future.

Packaging Cluster, entitat referent en el sector de l'envàs i embalatge, va celebrar el passat 19 de juny 2025 Assemblea General Ordinària i Extraordinària, que ha culminat amb la renovació de la presidenta Martina Font i Olivé i part de la junta directiva, que té com a novetat la incorporació de Pere Coll (Enplater) com a vicepresident segon, fins ara vocal.
