EOn Wednesday, October 9, a new edition of the #CAFÈdelpackaging was held at the Hotel Qgat in Sant Cugat del Vallès. This exclusive meeting for members brought together businessmen and executives from the industrial sector in a networking and knowledge session, with the prominent participation of Mr. Oriol Guixà Arderiu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of La Farga and President of the FemCat Foundation.
The conversation, moderated by Martina Font, President of the Packaging Cluster, revolved around the theme “From innovating at Montesa to becoming the kings of copper”. During the session, Guixà shared his experience in the industrial sector, from his time as head of innovation at Montesa to his career at La Farga, where he was key in the development of copper recycling and the creation of several companies in the group. During the conversation, Guixà emphasized that administrative difficulties and territorialization are causing many Catalan companies to pass into the hands of external owners, putting the country's corporate sovereignty at risk. Guixà also highlighted that Catalonia has always been a welcoming land, but that retaining talent is currently a major challenge, since many professionals trained here go abroad without returning.
The day began with a welcome coffee and a speech by Eduard Barcons, director of Institutional Banking in Catalonia and the Islands of Caixa d'Enginyers, who welcomed the attendees. The event culminated with a round of questions and debate, followed by a networking session between participants, thus reinforcing the objective of fostering relationships and dialogue within the sector.
The “Cafè del Packaging” is an initiative of the Packaging Cluster to create synergies and share knowledge between professionals in the Catalan industrial sector. The event was sponsored by Caixa d'Enginyers.
