The Packaging Cluster has successfully completed the SIGMA project - Integration of a generative AI assistant for the MM maintenance software of the Q plant in production plants, a cooperative initiative that has allowed the development and validation of an intelligent assistant integrated into the MM software of the Q-Plant of TAI Smart Factory.

The project, developed jointly with  TAI Smart Factory, Witte y Solá, Rieusset and with the advice of Dribia, has culminated in a tool based on generative artificial intelligence that facilitates access to the accumulated knowledge of maintenance systems through a conversational interface in natural language.

The wizard allows you to view the history of fixes, get summaries of machines, components, and maintenance personnel, and generate recommendations for preventive checks based on detected incidents. These capabilities help maintenance teams resolve incidents faster, improve decision-making, and make better use of available information.

The validation of SIGMA at the Witte y Solá and Rieusset plants has demonstrated the feasibility of integrating generative AI technologies into existing industrial environments , without the need to modify the maintenance management systems already in place.

The project has also shown a new way to access maintenance knowledge, transforming incident history and technical information into a useful, accessible and contextualized tool for plant teams.

In addition to the results achieved, SIGMA lays a solid foundation for the evolution of intelligent maintenance. Future lines of development include the integration of industrial sensor data, such as energy consumption, the interpretation of manuals, images and other technical documentation, as well as the incorporation of a greater volume of historical data to offer even more accurate recommendations.

Thanks to its scalable and replicable nature, the developed solution can be implemented in other industrial plants and represents an important step towards a more efficient and resilient industry, ready to face the challenges of digital transformation.
