The main objective of the project is to study the obtaining of sustainable packaging made with Ametller Origen's own vegetable food waste to prevent its waste.
What do we do? We help improve all processes related to packaging. We work so that companies in the sector collaborate with each other and, by working together, we can achieve a more sustainable future to promote Innovation.
Why is the packaging sector so important in Catalonia? In Catalonia there are more than 700 companies that work in the packaging sector. These companies employ 42 thousand people. The packaging sector is very important for the economy of Catalonia. This is because the packaging sector alone generates 4 out of every 100 euros generated in Catalonia in a year, which means it represents 4% of the *Gross Domestic Product.
*The Gross Domestic Product is everything that is produced and sold in a place during a year. It is used to find out how much money a country or region generates. If the GDP is high, it means that many products and services are being produced and sold. If it is low, it means that fewer are being made. The packaging sector represents 4 out of every 100 euros earned in Catalonia. This means that it is very important for the economy.
